Her maternal grandparents were Volga Germans who had been deported in 1941 to Siberia in 1941 by Joseph Stalin. When she was 4, she moved to West Germany in 1988, along with her family, including a six-year-old sister. Helene Fisher studied acting and vocals at the Frankfurt Stage & Musical School following her graduation.
